I always wanted to be a writer and a mother, so it's fitting that my debut novel explores motherhood, family, and the choices we make.
When I married my husband in 2006, I became stepmother to four beautiful daughters. Two years later, we adopted our son from Bryansk, Russia. That experience planted the seed for In the Name of Maloney. I wondered what would happen if if a woman going through an international adoption process uncovered secrets that fractured relationships or splintered her identity. My novel considers whether Siobhan must forgive the family she was born into and the husband she loves to realize the family she hopes to build.
I am a lifelong Massachusetts resident, and my stories are set in and around Boston.
